Important dates

Participant profile:

  • The Conference is aimed towards all scientists, technologists, academics, students, CTBTO policy makers, members of the media and representatives of organizations involved in research and development that is relevant to all aspects of Treaty verification.

Registration procedure:

  1. All applicants are requested to apply online on the Registration page.
  2. Applicants should specify the type of presentation (oral, e-poster).
  3. State Signatories wishing to nominate experts are requested to inform the Provisional Technical Secretariat ([email protected]) through their respective Permanent Mission.
  4. No registration fee will be charged.

Abstract submission procedure:

  1. Authors are requested to register to the Conference, before submitting an abstract (see Registration Procedure).
  2. Authors are requested to submit their abstracts online on the Abstract Submission page (it will open the week of 7 October).
  3. Authors are encouraged to submit abstracts relevant to the objectives of the Conference. Applicants should specify the type of presentation (oral, e-poster).
  4. No abstract submission fee will be charged.
  5. It is not possible to submit an abstract on behalf of an author.

Other pertinent information:

Language

  • The working language of the Conference will be English.
  • Abstract and presentation material should be in English.

Selection

  • The SnT2025 team will review and approve registrations. If needed, the SnT2025 team will contact applicants to complete and correct their registration. Confirmation of registration will be sent by email upon completion of the review.

Financial Support

  • Financial support may be available to a limited number of participants. Such assistance must be requested at the time of registration and abstract submission, and must be submitted as early as possible and no later than 14 January 2025 at 23:59 UTC
    Financial support will be considered only for participants who have submitted an abstract that is approved by the Scientific Programme Group. Participants are strongly encouraged to first seek travel and participation funds from non-CTBTO sources.

Visas

  • Participants who require a visa to enter Austria should submit the necessary application to the nearest diplomatic or consular representative of Austria as early as 3 months but not later than four weeks before their travel. Since Austria is a Schengen State, persons requiring a visa will have to apply for a Schengen visa. In States where Austria has no diplomatic mission, visas can be obtained from the consular authority of a Schengen Partner State representing Austria in the country in question.

Early Career Scientist (ECS)

  • An Early Career Scientist (ECS) is a student, a PhD candidate, or a practising scientist who received their highest certificate (e.g. BSc, MSc or PhD) within the past seven years. The seven-year period can be extended to allow for periods when the scientist was not working in science because of, but not limited to, caring and/or parental responsibilities, disability, personal illness, community obligations or national service.
