There is long history in environmental education in Africa to promote food security, sustainable development and to enhance livelihoods. However donors, researchers, development agencies and practitioners in project design often do not have ready access to high quality information that IMS and IDC data can generate to know about what works, in which settings and with and for whom. Fragility and violence associated with resource scarcity is a critical development challenge that threatens efforts to forge durable peace.Climate change also create fragility risks given that economies of countries in the Sub-Saharan African countries are largely agrarian and expected to face serious difficulties due to climate change and variability (Fofana 2011) . Evidence based lessons from selected climate change resilience programs are reported based on an in-depth review of three recent programs in Africa through semi structured interviews with experts working in those projects augmented with extensive review of published and grey literature. The aim is to enhance understanding of how IMS and IDC data can be used to know what works and what does not in reducing local vulnerability and strengthening main resilience factors such as homes, health, livelihoods, and community environment through greater knowledge, preparedness, skills and adaptation applications.
