Description

Earthquake activity in Zambia is closely associated with the East Africa Rift system (EARS). Areas of earthquake activity in Zambia. Although in the rest of the areas in southern Africa seismicity is low, elsewhere in Zambia seismicity is more diffuse with possibilities of occurrence of earthquakes with magnitudes Ms>5.0. Seismicity catalogues are one of the most important products of seismology the provide a comprehensive database used related to seismicity seismo-tectonics earthquake physics and seismic hazards analysis. Seismicity of Kaputa and Nsama area this was due to lack of seismic station within the vicinity area the frequency of earthquake in the area, the sense of direction they perceive the earthquake to be emanating from, and the intensity of such earthquake
