Description

Solomon Islands is located on an active zone of seismic activities where Indo-Australian Plate subducts beneath the Pacific Plate at a rate of approximately 95mm/yr towards the north-west. Solomon Islands is a double chained of islands that lies between Papua New Guinea in the North West and Vanuatu in the south-east.
The purpose of this paper is to present the distribution of the potential risky earthquakes that occurred in the Solomon Islands from the past 90 years (1932 - 2022) to date.

Solomon Islands is an island state country that is located in the south west of the pacific region. It's geological location and tectonic settings had causes it to be one of the most seismic active region in the world.
