 eparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organiz
 ation (Commission) is required to develop and prepare a list of equipment 
 for use during on-site inspections (OSIs). The Commission started work on 
 this verification task as early as during the first OSI workshop in 1997 a
 nd has since considered both the structure of the list and the specificati
 ons of the equipment to be listed. \nA proposal for the first comprehensiv
 e draft list of equipment for use during OSIs has been presented by the Pr
 ovisional Technical Secretariat of the Commission as a result of the imple
 mentation of OSI Action Plan 2016-2019. Taking into account relevant Treat
 y provisions and guidance from the Commission’s policy making organs\, i
 t covers all permitted inspection activities and techniques with the excep
 tion of drilling and is currently undergoing review by States Signatories.
  \nThis presentation provides a summary of the development of the first co
 mprehensive draft list of equipment for use during OSIs from the outset. I
 t highlights how advances of science and technology have influenced propos
 ed specifications of OSI equipment since the CTBT opened for signature and
  outlines why the draft list will mark an important milestone in the devel
