DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Mohammad Rajib (Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission\
, Dhaka\, Bangladesh)\, Md. Golam Rasul (Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commissi
on\, Dhaka\, Bangladesh)\, Md. Hasinur Rahman (Bangladesh Atomic Energy Co
 mmission\, Dhaka\, Bangladesh)\n\nBangladesh\, a Comprehensive Test Ban Tr
eaty (CTBT) signatory country since 24 October\, 1996\, is the 54th state
to ratify CTBT on 8 March\, 2000. Auxiliary Seismic Station (AS007 BRDH) i
n Bangladesh\, accredited as an internationally certified station\, receiv
es the seismic data from International Data Center (IDC) of CTBTO. The sei
smic station AS007 was established to monitor the activities of nuclear te
sting through seismic wave propagation in the region. Geoscientists of dif
ferent academic and professional institutions have been analyzing seismic
travel time data from various sources. Accordingly\, the objective of the
present report is to find out the potential application of regional seismi
c travel time (RSTT) data in the geoscience researches of Bangladesh. The
RSTT data can be applied to analyze this subsurface geological information
with the combination of other CTBT seismic stations of the region. Beside
s seismic data\, the IDC has other products\, such as radionuclide and nob
le gas distribution data around the world\, hydro-acoustic data for tsunam
i warning system\, etc. Therefore\, there is ample scope of introducing ID
C products to the geoscience education of Bangladesh. As part of R&D activ
ities through the CTBT-NDC\, BAEC is working on this aspect by collaborati
ng with the geology departments of several universities.\n\nhttps://confer
