DESCRIPTION:\nThe Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Tes
 t-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) relies on innovation to enhance the capa
 bilities of the Treaty’s verification regime as well as to help move the
  Treaty closer to universalization and entry into force.  The eighth even
 t in the CTBT: Science and Technology Conference series\, SnT2025 brought 
 together well over 2000 scientists\, technologists\, academics\, students\
 , and delegates from the CTBTO’s policy making organs. In addition\, rep
 resentatives from the fields of research and development\, science diploma
 cy\, science advisory\, media and advocacy were invited to attend the conf
 erence.\nSnT2025 took place from 8 to 12 September 2025 at the Hofburg Pa
 lace in Vienna\, Austria and online\, to create a worldwide inclusive conf
 erence with the objective to gather global support.\n\nThe SnT2025 was org
 anised by the CTBTO with the financial support of the Austrian Federal Min
 istry for European and International Affairs and the European Union.\n  
               \n\nSnT2025 Scientific Objectives:\n\nTo identify met
 hods and technologies that have the potential to improve nuclear-test-ban 
 monitoring and on-site inspections\, including emerging and game-changing 
 approaches.\nTo highlight how scientific developments and cooperation can 
 support national needs\, frame policy objectives in support of the CTBT an
 d promote its universalization.\nTo connect\, inspire and integrate divers
 e communities involved in nuclear-test-ban monitoring and on-site inspecti
 on and to enhance diversity across gender\, geography and generations\, an
 d to include early career professionals and youth.\nTo impact global socie
 ty by promoting civil and scientific applications\, capacity building and 
 training\, mentoring and skills development related to nuclear-test-ban mo
 nitoring and evolving verification techniques.\n\n\nKey deadlines in prepa
 ration for the event:\n\n16 September 2024: Registration for the Conferenc
 e opens\, and it will remain open until the Conference\n7 October 2024: Ab
 stract submission opens\n14 January 2025: Deadline for abstract submission
  and application for financial support\n31 August 2025:  deadline for upl
 oading e-posters\, lightning talk and oral presentation material\n\n\n \n
